This Once Hated 80's Trend Is Making A Comeback
Memphis Design Is Back
Tuesday, November 22, 2016 — In 1980, Ettore Sottsass gathered a group of a dozen designers in Milan to form a new collective; Memphis. It emulates all 80's pop culture references - think Miami Vice and Saved By The Bell, but with some Beetlejuice thrown in the mix. It looked just like the 80s. We've seen it influence everything from fashion to interiors, and now Murals Wallpaper have an easy way for you to add an abstract, nostalgic edge to your decor.
Acceptable In The Eighties
Soft yet bold colour schemes pair perfectly with simplistic geometry to create a bold and brash style statement that isn't for the faint hearted. This resurgence of primary colours, brave geometric motifs and silhouettes is encapsulated in the Memphis collection. Yeah, they're a little less kitsch than true Memphis design, but they're just as experimental and full of fun.
The murals, which are designed and sold by Murals Wallpaper, utilise modern digital printing techniques and capture the prints through HD photography. Your print can then be hung just like normal wallpaper.
